Dear Collector,

LeRoy Neiman loves to observe people, especially in the compelling, high-intensity atmosphere of casino gambling. From Las Vegas and Atlantic City to Monte Carlo and Baden Baden, the luxurious casinos around the world have long been among Neiman's favorite hangouts and subjects for his art. LeRoy has played them all, watching in fascination as fortunes were won or lost on the toss of dice or the draw of a card. The excitement and drama of these high-stakes games has inspired such classic Neiman serigraphs as Roulette, Vegas Craps, Stud Poker, Casino and Gaming Table, each valued today at many times its original release price.

Now Neiman brings us a new serigraph to add to that imposing list of gambling classics, High Stakes Blackjack - Vegas. LeRoy has always been attracted to blackjack, the favorite game of many shrewd gamblers, because it pits the gambler directly against "the House" and offers gamers their best odds of success. Neiman applies a wide range of colors to heighten the intensity of the moment, offering viewers a full array of blackjack tables at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, each complete with its players, its veteran dealers, and their voluptuous assistants. We even get to see the cards, with winning and losing hands in full view. Neiman captures it all in this exciting new serigraph, based on a painting he completed just last year. The immediacy and drama of the scene he creates is as incisive as ever. We feel we are standing just behind the circle of players - along with Neiman - watching them make their moves and say, "hit me!"

Best Regards,
Franklin Bowles
